We are thrilled to announce that EOSYS, a leading provider of digital transformation solutions, has been featured in the June 2023 edition of Control Engineering Magazine’s Innovations from the Industry section. The article highlights EOSYS’ groundbreaking collaboration with the iconic whiskey brand, Jack Daniel’s, and their successful implementation of an agile approach to revolutionize the bottling plant in Lynchburg, Tennessee.
In a world where adaptability and innovation are paramount, EOSYS embraced the power of agile methodologies to deliver outstanding results for Jack Daniel’s. By utilizing scrum, a brand of agile, the EOSYS team swiftly identified and addressed issues, avoiding lengthy development cycles. This allowed them to promptly deliver a minimum viable product, enabling the cross-functional Jack Daniel’s team to evaluate and provide valuable feedback.
The agile process employed by EOSYS encouraged innovation and empowered the team to make better decisions using new information. Even items that were not initially in the scope of the project were considered, resulting in a more valuable outcome at a lower cost, eliminating the need for change orders.
Jack Daniel’s large bottling plant in Lynchburg plays a crucial role in the production and packaging of their renowned whiskey brands, including Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 and Gentleman Jack. To enhance tank level visibility and improve production management, Jack Daniel’s partnered with EOSYS to upgrade their sophisticated manufacturing execution system (MES), TrakSYS.
The engagement with multiple stakeholders revealed additional complexities and opportunities, leading to a comprehensive statement of work that included a tank level dashboard and integrated systems for real-time data visibility. Given the intricate nature of tanks and piping leading to bottling lines, EOSYS and Jack Daniel’s employed an agile approach, enabling effective project management and collaboration.
Jennifer Crabtree, a representative from Jack Daniel’s, shared her experience, stating, “The collaboration with EOSYS and the agile methodology they used allowed flexibility and, most importantly, adaptability to our current situation. It enabled different departments’ stakeholders to collaborate and find the best solution that benefits all departments and the bottom line.”
EOSYS’ partnership with Jack Daniel’s exemplifies the power of embracing agile principles and digital transformation technologies. By staying nimble and responsive, companies like Jack Daniel’s can tackle the ever-changing demands of their industry with confidence.
